How to write own program to rip DVD?

Hi people,

I need some help. I'm trying to figure out how to write my own code using C#.net to rip a dvd into harddisk. Is there any place I can find any such code to refer to? Anyone knows where can I find the methodology or technology behind ripping?
I'm landed with this project and I'm not competent at it at all so I'll need the DVD community's help... I know there are softwares written already to rip dvd to harddisk but i'm asked to write my own and later integrate it with other parts of the project... Can anyone help? really appreciate any of your replies...
