Hi! I have the Panasonic NV-DS 11 video camera and Ive been trying to figure out how to that focus point effect when u can film a certain object and have everything around it blurry. Can anyone help?

Use the widest aperture you can. Get close to the object.

How do u mean? like if i wanna film my friend with tress behind him and i want the trees to be blury how do i do that?

Using a wide aperture reduces the pinhole effect of the lense, reducing the depth of field. Getting close to the subject also reduces the depth of field.
Depth of field refers to the distance between the nearest and farthest points that are "in focus", outside that range the picture is not in focus.
You're camcorder probably has a automatic "macro" setting for this effect. -
Using the macro setting and the widest apertaure setting will help. However, most of these small camcorders use such small chips that narrowing the depth of field is very difficult.
You might have to use a cheat to actually get the desired effect. -
Wow u guys really know what you're talking about. Do u know how I can cheat or achieve that macro thing?

I suggest you buy a photography book and eventually you might understand what you are trying to achieve and how you might be able to do it. What you are talking about is depth of field but this varies depending on the lens aperture range, setting, light level, shutter speed range and settings, etc. If your camcorder doesn't have manual exposure, shutter speed and focus settings, you are unlikely to be able to do it.
Except possibly by luck........
