You see, there are several ways to convert dvd to svcd using cce. Check http://www.doom9.org for the guides.
CCE SP 2.5 accept Avisynth's VirtualDub's and VFAPI files.
I recommend to use dvd2avi and Avisynth, if you like with a little help of GuardianKnot or dvd2svcd.

  8. DVD2SVCD is the best piece of software you'll own. Download it now and quite screwing around with the old ass VCD format.

PS. You also need CCE a $3.890.00 program if you buy it

  9. I'm thinking about CCEing but which version is the best with fewest flaws on an Athlon and frameserving with VDub?
    2.5? 2.62? Earlier version?

CCE SP 2.5 does not have problems with AMD CPU's. You can not use cce's audio encoder, but who cares about?
DVD2SVCD use toolame as audio encoder, that is the much better choise. It also use dvd2avi and Avisynth to frameserve, by far the best frameserve method for dvd to svcd conversions.
@bbb, cce sp 2.6 does not accept VirtualDub signpost files, so you have to use v.2.5 or earlier.
