Ok, I know that this is not the best drive in the world. I purchased this about 6 months ago from Office Depot.
It has been working fine until the last couple of days. I lock the computer up and the light on the drive and the light on my case for the proccessor flash on and off at the same time.
Does anyone know if there is a firmware upgrade for this unit. I have look around and have not found anything.
Or is there some place I can get the original firmware to flash the original firmware on it.?

Actually, it is a great drive for burning + media, comporable to Benq and Phillips drives that share the same chipset.I know that this is not the best drive in the world
What is the firmware version you are using? The newest version that I have is 150B which also adds support for -R/RW media. Look here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=4&manufactor=43 -
Thanks I did not see that firmware upgrade. I have download the one from KHyphermedia web site. I will try the newest one on that site.
