    Dear Friends,

Do you know how can we convert M2V files to MPG or MPEG ones?

    Thankfully,

Well, I already renamed it to a MPG one, but while trying to use it as a background of DVD menu, I only got a black background screen.

    Hi jjulio1,

filename.m2v is the video only component of an MPG file - no audio is in there. This is called an elemtary stream.

There's no need to change it to filename.mpg. As to whether it works or not, well that's dependent on the ocntent of the file, whether the app accepts .m2v, .mpg files etc.

Use AVICodec on it to get some info. Post it here and someone might be able to help.

    Good luck.

  5. If just renaming it to .mpg didn't work, you could try this: https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=627#comments - you can import the m2v, then if you don't want audio just add a blank audio file, just open audacity, import a file, set it to the correct length, and mute it. This will give you a new mpeg. If that still doesn't work, there may be something wrong with your original mpeg.
