  1. Does anybody know of a Site similar to this site, that can offer assistance in repairing a Windows Operating System, such as XP. I am having a problem repairing my OS, and was looking for assistance.

If this is an inappropriate question on this site, I appologize. Just looking for assistance, that is all.

    Thank you, in advance.

What's wrong with it? Someone here could know the solution, post it up! You could also back-up all your important files and then reinstall Windows XP if noone knows.

  3. I have a problem with my XP

Whenever I load open pages that have movies embedded on them my IE crashes http://www.ifilm.com , and sites like sputnik7.com also crash.

I dont want to reinstall XP but if it comes down to that remaining option, i might have to, but all in all XP is an ok system when moving from 98 and ME. It's stable enough so that i only reboot after installing drivers/updates that need a reboot.

  4. An easy way that may help would be to reinstall IE, other than that you may be able to prevent Windows Media Player from trying to open video in IE, it's to do with MIME types and if anyone knows where you'd do it then I would be grateful, Quicktime keeps trying to open any EXE's I try to D/l

  5. I have a version of XP loaded... My Wife screwed up something. When it boots it states that I have System problems. And it wants me to insert my original CD and do a REPAIR.. Problem is I dont have my original CD. I have a copy of it, and made it bootable... But it is only booting to Dos.
Does anybody know what I can run off the CD, to do the repair, once I am booted to DOS.. Is there a file in some sub directory that can emulate that, some how.

I can easily, format and reload from scratch, but I would like to have my process down, the next time this happens. I have done a repair before on a Win2000 CD, and it is a great tool.... But I have to use a copy of my Win XP, and it does not have the Boot image, or whatever... The one I created only boots to dos.

If anybody can help, I would greatly appreciate it..
