this is a kprobe of my backup of the DVD The Italian Job. i used nero recode and a Maxell MXL 4X DVD-R burned at 8X. i burned it on a lite on 812@832 and it had no errors with dvdinfopro. i am not expierienced with these kprobe scans so if someone out there can take a look, i would appreciate it.
thanks--dave

i tried the ritek G04's from newegg. my 812, 812@832, and 811 kept spitting out discs with errors. maybe a bad batch but newegg was nice enough to give me my money back on a non refundable item!!! i currently use the Maxell, TY DVD+R, and RICHOJNPR01, all overclocked to 8X with code65336 hacked firmware and all is great!!!

Scan is fine, but don't let that be the only quality marker you use. Bad scans can be good discs, and good scans can be bad discs. Fun, huh?

how does this speed scan look???
smurf, i ordered those 8X, DVD-R inkjet printable prodiscs. do you think they will do well with my lite on 812@832?? also, i guess the best scan of all is the read error test on dvdinfopro. 98% come up with no errors.
and don't let some of these aholes get you smurf---your advice on this site as well as your site is invaluable!!!!!!!

My 812s@832 does not seem to be liking the white prodisc discs. Since TY is down to 79 cents a piece, I will be sticking with that.
Also, the LiteOn burners seem to like the +R media -
aanaravs, i was having a prob with almost all -R too. the latest firmware frome codeguys works great. i van e-mail you the patched copy i am using if you like.

8x is beyond me right now. My max drive is set at 4x, and I won't be upgrading until DVD-R DL comes out, and even then, only a Pioneer drive. I have used many 8x media at 4x, and several appear to be quite fine, a solid media. The info at nomorecoasters.com really hasn't budged much. Unless some company wants to send me a drive to review (and/or media), I probably won't have much input on 8x@8x for a couple months. I am able to use a friend's 8x burner every once in a great while. Most testers I work with are also at 4x, waiting for a "real" upgrade (DVD-R DL) before spending more money.
