After creating some dvd home made disks and playing on my Sony dvd player stand alone. At first plays everything well and then
It stopped reading any discs store bought and home made. Sony doesn't seems to know why I have tried to figure out.
This has happened to my toshiba and then I bought a sony which was fixed twice by sony and then replaced once for a newer model which just burned down as well in a total of 4 times the same thing happened.
Any suggestions?

You have a piece of sony hardware with moving parts, and more specifically one with an optical reading device. Its inevitable early breaking is not listed as a feature, but it is one nonetheless.

it only happens after I played my burned dvds.
I wondered if that has anything to do with it -
Heat. Give it some ventilation. Don't put it in an entertainment center or on the carpet.
