  1. Has anyone played a dvd-r on a PS2 (UK - Not chipped)?

I thought that you wouldn't be able to but a friend has been watching some DVD-Rs on my PS2 without any problems?

Anyone with any thoughts about that and has anyone copied a PS2 DVD/CD yet? is it possible?

By dvd-r, i assume you mean dvd video.

ive played dvd-r fine on my PS2 (UK, non-chipped) without any problems but only in PAL. NTSC does play also, but ONLY in black and white.

My PS2 does however refuse to play dvd+r discs

    Hope this helps

Agreed. DVD-R movies play on a PS2. DVD-RW does not, though.

Also, I've found that the PS2 is pretty picky about which media brands it will play. I've had the best luck with Ritek/RiData media, which it gladly accepts. Also, I've heard that PS2 compatibility with DVD-R is highly variable depending on the PS2's revision.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

Very true. I also use ritek/ridata but my ps2 still won't play them. Like you said however, it is probably because my ps2 is first generation. Haven't tried dvd+r but I assume it won't work as well.
What do you do with a BA in english?
