Nope, wait for the one of those specials they run from Gateway or Dell for $500. You get everthing including a monitor. Last time I seen them I think they were offering 2.8 ghz P4.

    he's selling not buying it

Personally, no I wouldn't buy it. I can get the same or close deal for a brand new one (usually with rebates though)

I just read the subject and the specs.

IMHO the answer is still no. First it's used and second it's way out of date as I pointed out before you can purchase an entire sytem for $500 with a 2.8 p4 for $200 more bucks. It's worth $150 maybe $200 tops im my book.

    Depends:

If you're talking about 300CDN$ (you said Canada, right?) then that would be $231.22 in U.S. Dollars, so that changes things.

    Might be worth that amount.
Ethernet (n): something used to catch the etherbunny

you can buy a dvd writer in canada for 50$ now .... so 200- $300 cnd if it has a OS sounds about right .. if you can get it ..

you can get special codes for dell deals for about the same (500 for whole system INCLUDING monitor)

$69 Canadian includes shipping (about 48$ US) for a 8x dvd burner ..

Scottie, $230 - $250 (US) with tons of software is fair. Yes, you can get a complete system for $500 + Tax - a half dozen rebates but I would guess you're throwing in "technical support" since it's your Dad. I say it's fair and probably all he needs for surfing and watching DVD.

    A hub sux....

In the nicest way possible, that would completely turn me off.

First of all I could build a brand new system for what you are wanting to sell it for.

I never recommend using an ethernet hub because you are not sending the same amount of bandwidth to each computer. Instead you are sharing the bandwidth and slowing down the network.
