DVD created from home movies on PC (Pinnacle LE) are ripped successfully to AVI using AutoGK and DVD-Ripper.
DVD created from analogue camera input direct to JVC DR-M10S do not have sound when ripped to AVI with the same ripping software. Audio indentifier box prior to ripping shows "???AC3 2ch"
Can anyone offer any advice on what the problem is with the JVC recorder and how to overcome it?

I'm not sure but i think you have to "Rip" them differently.
See Here:

I used dvddecrypter to decrypte/rip the JVC dvd to my hard drive (the list of files on the hard drive looked very similar to the list of files on the DVD ) then I used AutoGK to rip the hard drive files to an AVI file. The same audio message appeared in autoGK (i.e. ???AC3 2ch) but the resulting AVI file HAD sound.
Wonderful, thankyou gastorgrab.
