I have some videos and movies dowloaded to my hard drive with a wmp icon not folders and can play with window media player or equal applications. I would like to put them on media dvd or cd to play on my dvd player at the television. Do not know how, can I change fomat or what do I need to do for this to work??

In short,
You need to convert the files to MPEG-2 for DVD or SVCD, MPEG-1 for VCD.
You really need to read the "What is..." sections for each format at the top left of your page to see which is the one for you.
Then try the DVD Players section to your left to see if your player will play the format you have chosen.
Then try the guides section to your left.If in doubt, Google it.
