    Hi All ,
    Got my 20"iMac with a Pioneer DVR-106D. I was on Meritline looking at the info on my drive and saw the listing of how it can burn in other formats in addition to DVD-R/W.

    How is this possible?

    I ended up traveling all over the world in cyber space reading and looking and wondering.....

    How are Firmware, Flashing, Patches and Updates applicable to me?

    What do I gain?

    RPC1 region code allows ripping from any region. Useful to me since I occasionally get PAL DVDs to satisfy my Anime habit. Speed boosts allow me to burn certain 2x media at 4x (I have the 105 drive) but otherwise I have seen no difference in drive performance since flashing.
