  1. Ok one quick question- I'm running out of space while editing in FCP. I noticed that I still have OS9 (or classic or something) on my computer. How can I get rid of that stuff and only have OSX on my computer without messing up any of my settings/ programs. Everything I do is already in OSX and I have just no need for it anymore. Anyone know how to do this? -
I have Panther and that's all I really need.- Any info will be appreciated-

    Go to Google. Type this:

    "os x" removing classic

    Click 'I'm feeling lucky'

Just to put things in perspective. The typical classic system folder is around 350MB. I believe FCP edits in DV which is around 2000MBs for about 10 minutes of video. Let's see... 350MB would equal around ...err... 4 minutes of video? Not much help here 8)

Classic is easy to remove. Simply trash the 'System Folder' and 'Applications (MacOS 9)' folder. You might want to back those up, in case you ever need classic for some reason. Also, by the time you factor in the extra system files and Classic applications that get installed over time, Classic-related files can easily take up over 1 GB.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

  5. Weasel, You got my idea. It's not just the system, but also the attatched programs ect. that are taking up too much room. Thanks for the help guys-
