Is one of the televisions color and the other is black-and-white?

Hello,
Are you using high definition cables on a non-hdtv? I did that with an xbox adapter not knowing I needed a different adapter (the advanced pack for the regular video and digital sound).
Make sure your using the standard yellow rca video cable to connect the dvd player to the tv (or svideo if you have it).

@yoda313, Thx for your reply. I'm using a scart lead. the TV that i get a b&w picture on is a portable with no yellow, red , white phono sockets or s-video.
@supreme2k, surely your on the wrong site. should'nt you be on www.funnyf**kers.com? people like me come on these forum for help. we clearly dont know as much as you about this subject or we would'nt be asking. Think on next time you you try making fun of a newbie! -
Hello,
andyk68- Sorry I can't help with scart stuff. I'm over in the US in NTSC Land. Hopefully somebody can direct you to the right conclusion.

andy, don't be a jackass. Where the hell in your topic or post did it say that both televisions were color?
I've worked in tech support for both television and PC. I have had people complain that their PC wasn't working, only to find out it wasn't plugged in. I've also seen people complain that the television was broken, because their tape said "IN COLOR" though they're using a bw television.
You said yourself that you didn't understand as much, or are a newbie, so the "answer" I gave was for a newbie.
Your welcome. -
OK the obvious answer is you have a faulty cable, but if one plays colour and one B & W then its not the cable...presuming your using the same SCART lead...or, are you using just an aerial (coax) input?..(if so try tuning the correct station in.
If its a portable then does it have seperate channels for input? Does a VCR play videos in colour on the same input channel connected by the SAME cable? -
Are these PAL or NTSC discs? Maybe the player is outputting in the wrong format for one TV, but the other can take both and so displays colour?

@yoda, thx for trying.
@monzie, i am using scart not coax. it is a portable with one scart input only. videos and my other dvd player play in glorious colour.
@cobra, the discs are in pal format.
@supreme2k, i said i was a newbie, not a moron. even my 4 year old girl knows you cant get a colour picture from a B&W TV. I think that you just thought you'd have a laugh at the expense of a newbie. I have to say that things like that dont help forums at all. -
While you might feel insulted by Supreme2k's question, it was intended as a helpful question, and a completely valid one. If you are going to be that thin-skinned, you aren't going to last long around here.
Is the connection scart to scart, or are you using a scart backshell with other connections (I had one of these that allows RAC video/audio and s-video, so both the old PS-One and DVD could be hooked up together). I have seen these symptoms when an rca type s-video cable is used to connect to a standard rca video connection. (very clear picture, no colour).
