You don't say what kind of AVI or what kind of sound they are. Makes a big difference. I'm guessing DIVX or XVID.

For XVID or most DIVX, something you might try is TheFilmMachine. It's a very simple to use tool for conversion to DVD.

If you need to know more information about the files, drop them into AVIcodec and that should tell you AVI type, audio type, framerate, etc.

  5. just to add im trying tmpgenc now im making a file just under 800mb. if i try select the whole video .(peter kay at bolton) it says its way to bigto fiton disk. ifi go ahead and do it even though its to big can i then use something else like an mpeg or a svdc splitter

  6. i'm quite happy with the Mainconcept MPEG Encoder software. It does a great job at encoding AVI's to MPEG compliant for burning to VCD's or DVD's

  7. i think that means that its too big to fit onto a CD not a DVD.
you have to pick dvd in tmpgenc,so itll make a dvd compliant mpg.
    why not try winavi.
that will convert it to dvd files in less than 1 hour.
the latest version works well, except on some files i get quite low output volume upon completion.

Use the source range function to mark the start and end points. You should probably make 2 or 3 CD's.
