    what program can i use to work out wether my divx file is ntsc or pal?

    Virtualdub. Click file then file information, look at the framerate.

  3. Use File -> Open Video File in VirtualDub. Then File -> File Information.

    25 frames per second is PAL

    29.97 frames per second is NTSC

    23.976 frames per second is NTSC (ready for 3:2 pulldown).

    I think GSPOT could probably tell you this also.

    another good proggy is gspot... it'll tell u everything about the file... things like codecs required, framerate, bitrates etc.

    You can pull up the decoder properties in Windows Media Player as well I believe. It will display average frame rate and the frame size if I'm not mistaken. Been a while since I used it. Right click it while it's playing click properties, etc. It's in there somewhere.
