    just wondering if there is any program that allows me to rip dvd's using my cd drive or cd burner drive.

    ps: anyone use dvdXcopy? is it any good?

    Your CD drive doesn't turn fast enough to rip DVDs. But these DVD writers are going dirt cheap, with all the technology coming out, so you may want to consider not only a new DVD ROM, but a new DVD writer as well.

    Oh yes. Start by using DVD±RWs, as you may make a few coasters starting out. and a DVD±RW disk is reusable.

    You need a dvd drive.

    Imo, xcopy leaves a lot to be desired. Why pay for something, when you have better programs that do a better job that are free?

    Xcopy inserts it's own warning screen that states it is a copy. The program also has copy protection to where you have to use decrypter or something similar to copy a copy made with xcopy.

    Check out dvddecrypter, and dvdshrink
