  1. I just burned a movie onto a DVD+R DL with my NEC 2510A. The layer change is noticeable as a very quick pause.

Is there any way yet to position the layer change before burning? I'd like to be able to place it the middle of a dark scene change, etc., where the pause won't be noticeable.

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Why did you feel the need to post the exact same question in 2 different threads, AND then create an additional thread with the same question?

  3. Sorry about that. It was very late, and my good judgement was impaired.

  4. Which authoring software are you using?

Good ones let you set a layer break position.. I think DVD-Lab does.. most software doesn't really have good DL support yet.

EDIT: Oops.. I just realized that this is the post that is in the wrong forum.. I imagine someone else has probably responded to your other post.

IFOedit will do it. I can't quite remember how it does it, but it will do it. If you do a forum search, you will find what you need.

  6. Thanks for the replies from most of you.

I think I solved the particular problem I was having by burning the movie as an ISO image with Nero. In the original burn, Nero had placed an additional layer break a couple of chapters before the original one. In the second burn, Nero left it alone.

I haven't tried burning an authored disk yet, though this is really where my interest lies. I want to record American football games and burn them to dual layer media. I don't know whether or not I'll need to manually insert a layer break. If I need to insert one myself, I don't know if I can choose the exact spot for the break or not.
