I am going on a camping trip but not with the big motorhome type vehicle, just my truck and a small pull type trailer.

I would like to do some work on my video project while I am out in a secluded place and relaxed, only two problems, I dont have a laptop so I would have to bring my desktop along which is no problem. There is a small desk area in the camper. Trouble is, how would I power it? I will be camping up at a relative's farm and not be at a typical campsite with ammenities so probably no plug in power available.

My truck has the typical lighter outlet - can this power a PC somehow with a adapter of some sort? or would I be forced to bring a generator?
    thx.

A 500 watt power inverter and a second deep cycle battery that you can charge while you run the truck can do the trick.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

    Thanks for the info.

How big of an inverter would you need for a Desktop PC and monitor? Mine is an AMD 1.5 ghz, 786 MB ram with a dvdrw and cdrw drive.

500Watt (continuous) should be more than enough for a PC and a 17" monitor. I just got a 375W Tripplite inverter for using my laptop in my vehicle, it only needs about 100W. Says a 25" color TV needs about 230W.
