i got a dvd which obviously has vob files. now, i want to convert it to dvd-compliant mpeg-2 for the purpose of editing. that way, when i'm done editing, i can make it into a dvd again.
is there a program that converts dvd -> dvd-complaint mpeg-2?

VOB's are DVD compliant MPEG2 files already. You can save them to your hard drive and then simply rename them with the .mpg extension. You may also join the VOB's in to one file if you like, naming the single joined file with the .mpg extension. I use Simple File Joiner for that (it's free)

That method usually works for some 80% of DVD VOBs. The remaining ones have to frameserved to TMPGEnc Plus!
