  1. Hello I have a huge problem.

I want to know how to split a DVD and keep all the menus intact?
I can explain what I would like to do.

I usually use DVD Decrypter and then DVD2one when I copy and compress my DVD`s. But now I want to do this different.

I want to learn how to lay the Main movie on one disc and all the Extra material on another disc. You know? split it.

By doing this I can keep more of the original size of both the Main movie and the Extra material/Special features.

But I have one goal when I split the DVD information into two disc`s. And that is to keep the Main menus and all the other menus intact. I want to do the split, but with still working menus.

    Example on disc 1:
I want the Main movie to work with the Main Menus along with all the Subtitles.

    Example on disc 2:
On this disc I also want the menus to work, it will say “the Main Menus” for the Extra material/special features. It will say I lay all the Extra material/Special features on this second disc.

You may understand how I want to split my DVD`s know? But I don`t know how to do this?

DVD Shrink is a wonderful program, but if you USE the Re-Author stuff, the menus will not work on the DVD. Evan the program says that. So I tried that already.

So PLEASE what type of program should I use and how should I DO THIS. If you know, please help me and please give me some type of instruction.

    Best regards Putte

There are a number of ways to do this, and a number of guides in the how to section.

    Software that makes it easy:

DVDRemake - Allows you to pick and choose what you keep. Also allows you to delete or disable buttons onn the items you remove. May still require transcoding by a seperate application to fit.

Nero Recode2 - Allows you to replace items you don't want with a still or alternate video. Not as elegant, but very easy to use. Can also transcode and burn.

DVDShrink 3.2 - can replace items you don't want with a still image (Choose Still Image from the compression drop down) without having to reauthor.

    Software that is more complex:

IfoEdit and other lower level DVD structure editors. You really need to understand how a DVD is structured and built to want to play around with these.
