    Hello

I have encoded an AVI file for DVD authoring using tmpgenc and the 2VBR hi quality settings from this site and I now have a problem because the "video only" m2v file is 4h43 long (or so says tmpg dvd author) and so I don't know what do to, I have extraced the audio as well in PCM uncompressed and the audio file is also 4h43 long.

Anybody has an idea of what went wrong ?

    Thanks

encoding is NOT authoring. moving you.

DId you try change the directshow filter in tmpgenc? and you can use the source range to select start and end.

  3. Open the avi file in virtualdub. If it gives you a warning about VBR audio, that is the problem. TmpGenc does not like VBR audio.
In virtualdub, select Audio->compression, No compression (PCM). Then audio->full processing mode, then file, save wav and call it movie.wav. Use this file as the source audio when encoding.

    Hello

Virtualdub gives me the warning about VBR audio but since I used TMPGenc to extract the VIDEO file only should this be a problem ?

I now have this 4h43 video file and the correct 1h34 audio wav file but when i go to dvd author, chapter the video file by cutting the extra black space and specify the audio file it still won't author, when I start the authoring process tmpgenc dvd author just closes and nothiung happens...

Thanks for the help, I guess this topic might go back to authoring now ? I'm sorry but it seems that I'm in the middle of both worlds...

  5. You need to re-encode, using the extracted wav file as the audio source. Then the .m2v file will be the correct length.

Now that i have the m2v file can't I just "cut the end" and use this ?

Long shot I know but it's better to do this than to reencode and have another 14 hours...

    Thanks
