  1. I have burnt two discs so far and both seem to cause my stand alone player to pause and stop after a short time, this can be avoided by fast forwarding through the layer transition. On my PC the layer change plays fine. I used DVD decrypter to copy the discs and the latest version of nero to burn them i have a Lite-on-sohw-832s. At $15 AU a disc it seems to be an expensive experiment and i was hoping someone could give me advice on what programs to use and how to successfully copy a dual layer movie!

At this moment i am trying disc copy in nero and it has stopped at 70%. It hasn't moved for more than 15 minutes. The light on the drive went from red to orange........

Right now a lot of programs (i.e. ALL of them, with the possible exception of RecordNow) have issues with the layer change. Sorry, just the way it is - gotta wait for the authors to fix them.

    You are lucky Kurupter.

There are alot of compatibilty issues right now with dl burning.

If you don't believe me, read some computer magazines.

Well I haven't had any problems burning with Nero, it works fine in the players I've tried it in.

I am interested to know if you tested it in your Bose 321 system? If so, what software version are you using in your 321. If you dont know, the way to see the software revision is by the following method. Remove power to your Bass Module, wait 10 seconds, re-apply power and within 2 seconds push and hold the following 3 buttons on the front panel of the DVD player, Stop/Eject, FF and Volume UP, until you see some lights flashing on the display. Then you can stop pushing the buttons and some numbers will appear on the display. The most important numbers are the last two. To be the latest version, they should read 10. If they don't, contact your dealer for an update disc. To reset the system back to normal, remove power, wait 10 seconds then re-apply. I would of liked to be able to do testing with my DVD burner but unfortunately it is only a single layer burner. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks

Give your local Bose hifi dealer a call and ask for the 321 update cd, or if they cant help, call your local Bose wholesaler and they can post one to you. There have been a number of improvements to the 10 version so it is really worth chasing up, particularly with the things that you are doing. There are two versions of the 10 software, make sure you get the one that is marked XB-10 XB-12. This contains the information to correctly read the latest CD copy controlled discs.

  10. Thanks for the feed back! I shall wait a little longer before i burn any more. Well maybe just one more! I don't know why Nero didn't have any problems when i ripped it with DVD Decryter then burnt it. You would think that using disk copy in Nero would be fairly safe, but it just locked up at 70%......anyway one more for the road. Thanks Again!
