    Hello,
Movie Maker is XP only, sorry. If the sound is out of sync, why don't you demux the sound and cut it with a wav editor?

    Hello,
If you mean fix the audio synch sure. Get tmpgenc first. Load the file (mpg or vob). Go to file, mpeg tools, demultiplex. Open the file, select the audio portion, save it as a wav. Load the wav into a wav editor. Go to beginning of clip and shave a few seconds off in a blank spot to try to synch it up. Repeat until you get it right. Remultiplex the good wav with the mpeg file.

  6. When I open the video file , it said "illegal MPEG system stream."

Another question: do I have to record the sound and save it as .wav first ?

    Hello,
If its a vob you need the mpeg 2 plug in. Look under the tools section on this site, its either under video editors or plugins, not sure.

Yes, double click the sound portion (will say something-audio) save it as a wav, that's the most recognized soundfile.

  8. What's a Vob??

Here are the codecs that I already had:
    Xvid
    DivX
    Matroska
    Vosub
    AC3 filter
    ffd show

The video files that I want to fix are in .mkv and .avi formats.

    Hello,
A VOB is a "video object", the main file format for dvd-video {basically a fancy wrapper for a mpeg2 dvd compliant video file - look in a dvd video_ts folder and you will see several .vob files, the actual movie}. I'm sorry I assumed you were using a dvd rip.

I don't know if tmpgenc supports that file type {.mkv, it will do avi}. If it does do a net search for a tmpgenc plugin for that file type. I've never come across that file type before. However, the principle for editing is the same regardless of file format.

  10. Can you please tell me which codecs I need? -_-;; TMPGENC doesn't support .avi either (the same error message showed up with .avi)...

    Hello,
I'm sorry I don't know. I don't work much with avi and other formats. My tv card captures in mpeg and thats what I work with. I'd suggest looking through the guides on this site and do a net search for tmpgenc and avi. I'm sure your problem has popped up before. Wish I could help out more, good luck.

  12. Thanks for your help!

I'm wondering whether I can adjust sounds & motions this way:
    1. Record the sounds from a movie, save it.
    2. Convert the movie into .mpeg file
    3. Burn the sound file and movie file at the same time

    ....... ??

    Hello,
Check out the conversion guides on this site for dvd-mpeg or vob-mpeg. You'll save both sound and video to the .mpg file (unless you want the audio seperate for other projects, than strip it with tmpegenc).

If its a dvd rip you have a ton of options. If your talking about a captured movie it should come with editing software.
