  1. Move the CD burner from the existing IDE channel to the other. Make sure both are enabled in setup. Then check with device manager and see if it shows up on the other channel. If it does, you might have an issue with a master/slave jumper on the CD-RW. Try removing the jumper and retry on the original IDE channel if that's the case

    Just tell me if im getting this right. You want me to pretty much take it out of it's "slot" and put it into another one and see if it will work there? Also Want is the master/slave jumpers?

    Once you move it, if it shows up then its working. If it doesn't show then check your jumpers for slave/master settings. if its alone on the 2nd channel set it to Master BEFORE you hook it back up.

    Otherwise sounds like you got it.
