I would like to know which camera to buy. I have the choice with DV camera with digital tape or camera with DVD writer.
I want to use Adobe Premier and I want to know which one will be the easiest to use with that software. I think that is not the best thing to do to use DVD to feed Adobe Premier.
Will I loose quality using a DVD instead of a tape?
Thank you

If you are planning on editing your video go with the DV format. The DV format works with a video datarate of around 25Meg while DVD tops out at around 9Meg. The DVD format is great for the people who shoot video and just want to watch it right away. If you want to bring the video into your computer and create your own DVD then a DV camera is what you want.

Hello,
Be careful with the dvd option. From what I've read many can only hold 20 minutes of top quality video. I would think the tape option might hold more. Just something to look into.
