I have a movie that MacTheRipper and oSEX just refuse to rip. They just don't come anywhere and no error message. It start and stops the same 1 sec after.

I rented another disc of the same movie, but same problem. Is there a new encoding that the decoders /MacTheRipper and oSEX) can't take?

Have you tried saving as a disc image first in OSEx, or Yade X?
What reader are you using to rip with, is it a different region disc? Many people claim the newer PowerBooks are hopeless on different region disc without the firmware hack. More info please....

unrippable rental discs are often dirty in a way the ripper hates that is different from the way people tend to define a dirty disc. wipe it down. then wipe it down again.

it sounds like you're asking for help to pirate a movie you dont own so i suspect a lockdown on this thread will happen shortly.

I use a NEC ND-2500 DVD for reading and I have not tried to save as o image yet, but I never had this problem before. The disc is wached and wached. And as the rip stoped at once on two different discs It hink there is another strange problem

    And another thing!
WHAT is the best media to copy DVD movies and PS2 games on. I have tried soo many and no one is perfect. Many movies get pixelated (big squares) when the picture is moving fast.

I burn at the lowest speed etc.

I still stand by TDK 2x DVD-Rs, even though they are no longer made in Japan. They've been problem-free for me, and are about $1 per disc in bulk.

Apple branded media is always excellent, though pricey. It's no longer available in the 2x burn speed.
