As all of us R200 owners know this printer uses a lot of ink when cleaning the heads. I was just wondering if there are better alternatives or recommendations on how to clean the heads without using so much ink. Advice on this subject or where to find guides would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I do not recommend using any alternative methods. I don't like to waste ink either, but they made it do this for a reason, and the reason is not to sell more ink. Turn it off when not in use, and you shouldn't have to do a full cleaning too often unless you live in a dry area. The printer will do a short cleaning every time you turn the power on, this is generally enough to clear the heads.
If you live in a dry area, you can put a plastic bag over the printer at night. Keep a damp sponge/towel inside the bag too, this wll keep the humidity higher inside the bag. Also keeps dust out of the printer.Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
TVI thanks for the advice, better safe than sorry any old day. Have a good one.
Thank You,
