  1. I recently downloaded a movie from Suprnova.org and it downloaded in AVI/DivX format with AC3 audio. It was a DVD Rip(compressed).

It's also in PAL format(25 fps) and I am in Canada where all video is NTSC.

I have used TMPGEnc and stuff, but I don't know if that's what I have to use in this situation.

I assume that I first extract the audio from the video and save it as a PCM .wav file.

Then I load the AVI and new .wav file into TMPGEnc and merge the two together.

But, what format in TMPGEnc do I select?? Do I choose PAL?? If I do, can I still burn it as NTSC??

I'm just trying to figure out this whole PAL and NTSC thing...

Also, there's absolutely no way to just burn the DivX/AVI file and somehow be able to watch that on my DVD player, right??

    THANKS AGAIN!

  2. What DVD player do you have? A few can read DivX discs. Check over to the left for a list of Divx capable DVD players.

  3. U may be doin the right thing, depends what u wann do.

If u wann it 2 work on ur Home TV Standalone DVD Player, then yeah u may possibly have 2 convert it (some DVD Players play NTSC/PAL).

Just use NeroVision 2, its faster and simpaler, just choose 'NTSC' and 'Encode rate' 'Super long Play' if u wann 'low' quality or high quality. It will Convert AC3 in to Dolby Digital when u make DVD, Tempec doesnt do dat for audio. Or if u wann use Tempenc Convert Video only and no sound. Then u Tempgenc Author 2 make dolby digital sound from AC3.

    LOL

Probably NOT the best way to start a topic m8: "I recently downloaded a movie from Suprnova.org ...."

Next time, try a more politically correct version such as "I have just spent my hard earnt Canadian dollars on a obtaining a DVD movie that I managed to legitimately backup to my HDD. Just as well I did because my dog has eaten my original DVD........."
