Good day at Ascot

Went to Ascot yesterday for a bit of a flutter and a whole days drinking like you do . Was not doing too well, lost on the first four races with my horses being nowhere in sight., in fact I think one of them was called Sad Ken

So after 4 races I was £40 down, decided to put £15 on the 5th race and it won, winning me £56. So I was now a pound up after 5 races

Last race and I decided to put £20 on, was going to put more on but decided to be sensible (bad move). Frankie Detori on Dubai at 5-1, good odds as most other bookies were only offering 4-1. Frankie had already won 3 out of the 5 races so I had a good feeling about this last race. MY mate put £50 on but only went each way. Anyway he won, getting me back £120 including my stake. So I was £101 up on the day.

Definately a result as I dont often come home with more money than I went with after a day at the races.

You should have seen the bookies face who was offering 5-1, he took a right hammering on that race, there was a huge queue for payouts.

I know my limitations - I am a horrible gambler and limit myself to nickle 5-card-draw slots when in Nevada. I feel good if I break even

I came home with £30 more than I went with, and all food for the day was included. So my drinks bill for the day was £70.

Dont drink Guiness, it was Lager and Smirnoff Ice. Can't remember how many I had it was a long day, but it must have been more than 15, average price of a drink was around £3. Started 9am Saturday finished 2am Sunday.

sounds about right, i didn't go to bed friday night, went to bed about five o clock this morning, then up and back home from my friends house. really don't feel like going to work tomorrow! plus i reckon i must still be over the driving limit!
