I am looking to build a custom DVD Server alternative to purchasing a kaleidescape ( http://www.kaleidescape.com/ ). Im looking for advice on software that could be used, whether having to purchase it or not isn't a problem. The software has to be "REALLY" easy to use as we are looking for including them in home theater installations. Is there anything out there for this?

Is there maybe a better topic to post this under? Or is there just nothing available for this type of application. Anyhelp or ideas is greatly appreciated.
Thanks. -
Do a Google search for 'video server'. There are some sites there if you can filter out the industrial and internet applications. I think there will be a steep learning curve, but what you want to do is possible. This site may give you some ideas: http://www.ecsl.cs.sunysb.edu/~andrew/VideoServer/videoserver/index/book1.html
