I was just at one of A&E Cable Network's sites, where they are selling dvdr copies of their documentaries, and they link to this site so customers can search their players for compatibility.

I can't see any reason (other than the one in my first paragraph) why it wouldn't be okay.

Nothing prevents you from linking to a site. It's published. I can write on my site "please see the November 2002 issue of Time" and it's the same thing. I can say "visit www.videohelp.com for more info" all I want, and nobody can sue me.

You can even say "see page 17, 3rd paragraph in Time" or "www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers" and again, fine.

Now .... if I go and download the DVD player section off this site, or I put up a full electronic version of that Time issue, and then put it on my site, then we've got problems. Especially if I say try to pass it off as my own.

But a referenece (a link for the HTML world) ... no problems.

When I was in college in the late 90s, early days of business Internet, this was laughed out of the courtroom. It's been so long, I no longer remember the case. A professor showed it to us. This was about the time the Internet became classified as published material.

My site links to this one and many others. In fact, I go one step further, and launch theirs in a new window, to distinguish the sites even more.

I sell CD,DVD-R/W's and some other stuff on my site and thought this might be a place to link to so if someone has a question on how to use nero or make a home dvd video then they can search here. I'm not going to show/sell any videohelp.com content (guides or how-to's) just provide a link. That's all.

Wow, I had no idea that so many people around the world know about Prisoner. I knew that it was popular in the UK, but Sweden, US, Canada, South Africa, That's unbelievable. I used to watch this show on the telly when I was a kid and for a couple of years now I've been watching it on UKTV. Currently up to episode #667, getting very close to the end. I'm excited because I never saw the finale when it was on in the 80s.

So, I am very pleased that you're enjoying Prisoner.

Once I recall as a re-run at this late in Sydney at 3.00 am.

No longer on air though and I got the DVDs of the series. Not Swedish, only English without the subtitles.

I haven’t the chance to play all yet as I need the time for it.

I don’t want to know what happens next just like you. So, I won't spoil anything.
