  2. Any know what the difference is between these:

    DVR-107D v1.16 - Full

    DVR-107XL v1.16 - Full

Is the XL for the AO7XLA or B?

Far as I know, the only difference there is the color of the faceplates (A is beige while B is Black).

  4. No no, I ment the two versions of the firmware as found on the linked page. I did some reading around that forum and figured out that the XL version of the drive uses a different kernel as the hardware is slightly different and so the different firmware version is made for the XL which includes my A07XLA

These are two different drives. The 107D and A07 are the same and the and I am sure NIL meant the A07XL as the other drive; I haven't seen it as the 107XL here but I suppose that it is sold that way somewhere. The differences between A07 and 107 really only deal with OEM classification.

Also be aware that this version has problems with Ritek G03 at 4X speed which is where many users want to burn. I would wait until NIL posts the fix before I update.
Still a few bugs in the system...

Which BRAND 1x speed disks burn at 8x ... ? Success rate?
I have a pioneer a6 but I might want to buy one of these Drives if the Success RATE is GOOD on G3's at 4x or 8x.
