    Thanks, but I am confused....I can get a spindle from USA, but it says only "Verbatim" 4.7 GB DVD-R inkjet;

I don't know its code or whatsoever, so, I'd change my question, any specific advice on one of the many available ?

    Thanks,

well -- point of my link is that no mater what it says on the outside -- its hit or miss who really made it ..

only sure way to tell is to check media code -- which means you have to buy some ...

then next time you buy some it may be different ...

Thanks, Check it with DVDinfoPro and see verbatim tends to sub stuff out to the cheapest bidder sometimes. Sometimes its very good and sometimes real shitty.

Verbatim MCC CD-R was at one time some of the best around.
Verbatim MCC DVD-R was and still is some of the best
Verbatim CMC DVD-R belongs in a landfill

Verbatim inkjet (official media, not fakes) are MCC and good stuff.
But expensive normally, at least in USA.

The only printable media Verbatim shows on its US website is Datalifeplus, so you're guaranteed it will be MCC media (assuming the site is selling real Verbatim media), though these days most of it is manufactured in Taiwan (I think only 8x media is manufactured in Singapore now).

Does that comment mean that Verbatium MCC CD-R is no longer the "best around"? or does that mean that back when people were buying CD-Rs more, MCC was "best"?

Today, how are Verbatim MCC CD-R considered? good, very good, or junk?

Most CD-R now suck. I think TY is the only real holdback on quality. MCC is okay, but NOTHING like it used to be.

I guess u are right. I get acceptable results from some brands but I can΄t find one brand that can stand out amongst the crowd.
There's nothing like Kodak and Mitsui Golden Dye. I have several cd-r's burned a few years ago and they still play flawlessly!
Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach that person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks

Have you noticed that a slight tax increase costs you two hundred dollars and a substantial tax cut saves you thirty cents?

I have burned like 500 CDs in like 5 years. I can only say the CD media has gotten better. CD media 4-5 years ago other than Kodak, Verbatim (MCC), or REAL Sony were lanfill. but in the last 2-3 years i haven't bought a CD-R that wouldn't burn or wasn't readable after burn. I now also use the cheapest stuff. My last 200 disks were CMC and were like $20 per 100. And i have no problems with them. DVD media on the other hand; anything other 1st class media is NOT reliable enough for me.

    How about this?

    - Good media got worse.
    - Crap media got better.

I think that's more the scenario for CD-R

I truly miss Sony, Maxell, Verbatim, Kodak and Pioneer CD-R media of days gone by.

Now, CD-RW has gotten MUCH better in past years.
