Um, I hope you realise that site is bullshit...
Obviously it was written by the school of thought where if you string together enough poorly understood technobabble, people will believe you.
Few things that are a clincher:- patents (that if true) would be revolutionary all belonging to one person (I don't think so)
- why is a site designed for communicating new technologies to investors/consumers written in unintelligible technobabble? All bona fide companies with new/proof of concept technologies usually have easy to understand explanations that even the most dull-witted corporate investor with minimal background in basic sciences can understand.
- anyone with that degree of research accumen would at least know how to correctly use CAPITALS
- of the few bits of recent basic materials/optical science I do know, "negative refraction" has only been demonstrated at specific microwave wavelengths using some sort of large copper apparatus -- no one has demonstrated it at optical wavelengths so them claiming to have already incorporated the concepts into a high density recording device is utter bullshit
BTW, I have read multiple articles on various people developing holographic based storage devices. The technology that has gotten closest to commercial realisation (that I'm aware of... and it isn't truly holographic I suppose) is the FMD (fluorescent multilayer disc). It was developed by an Israeli company I think and they had working prototypes and were to the stage of finding a commercial backer. This was back a few years ago and I think they were talking of disc capacities in the hundreds of gigabytes. Amazing. Unfortunately, it was never realised commercially.
