Ok I recorded a program off of the tv with my dvd recorder onto a DVD-ram. I ripped the program using tmpgenc dvd author into a mpeg-2. I want to make it into a compressed avi file so I loaded it into virtualdubmod. I put filters for deinterlace, subs, and resize, and I set the video compression to xvid. I then needed to compress sound so I went to streamlist and selected full process mode and then selected mpeg-layer 3 56kbits/s.
I then went to save but I got the error that "No audio decompressor could be found to decompress the audio". My hunch is that the ac3 is causing problems. Anyway to get around this? I do have an ac3 filter but it doesnt seem to help with this. weird...
