In a recent thread ( https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=959658#959658 ) it was said that user reviews of some form of DVD disk had been deleted. Is this true, and if so why did it happen?
Just curious mostly, thanks.

Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

Read all the guys posts. He's just here to stir up trouble!

Yeah, I figured that part out. But the question is still there. The only reason that reviews ever get deleted is from false statements. Does that mean that it was perceived that those reviews were not truthful?

If memory serves, I believe that the reviews were "ringers", meaning that the reviewers signed up for the express purpose of upping the quality rating on that media. Also, I believe that some of the accounts were alternates made by Naked Geek (kind of like LordSmurfinTraining).
-
LordSmurfTraining and joe89 were Naked Geek.
When naked geek came onto the scene there were mysteriously a lot of new member accounts who posted about naked geeks media, as Baldrick suspected these were planted reviews and not genuine, the reviews were removed.
This is as I understand the situation, reading between the lines, but Baldrick would have to confirm this.

Just part of the sad, pathetic legacy that is Naked Geek. If there wasn't a good reason to never try his media before, this review counterfeiting is the best argument to never waste your money. It probably makes Princo look like TY media :P
-
What actually happened is that Naked-geek, upon getting his media listed on this site, asked some of his customers to post a review of his media. I posted a true review. I've to date bought 400 of his disks without a problem, 200 normal and 200 printable, the printables are very nice.
If Baldrick had a problem with some of the reviews posted he should of contacted some of the posters to check for authenticity, but he chose not to do this. Instead this whole affair was totally avoidable with other "people" jumping on the bandwagon; without any proof either way.

If you have something usefull to say, say it, otherwise stop thread crapping. Some people want to have usefull conversations on this board. You, obviously, are not one of them.

Let's see.
1) Low post count.
2) Only replies in Naked Geek threads.
3) ISP in the U.K.
4) Lies and misrepresentations, often false accusations and sometimes
outright threats. Personality almost as varied as his changing nick.
= Naked Geek
I do not care about his average media. His business practice is what I question.
I think web users should be supplied with the full facts. At the very
least it would make an amusing story. How about "The Naked Geek Diaries" as a heading? What do you think?

here we go again. as a genuinely happy customer, i'm astounded by the uninformed comments trotted out in here on a regular basis.
if you've never bought the media, you're in no position to advise others that its crap, period.
flame away. i'm not a figment of the imagination of NG (as i've been wrongly accused of before), and i haven't whined to a moderator to correct accusations of my involvement in a conspiracy theory.
to quote Jack Nicholson in A Few Good Men, "you cant handle the truth!!"
this guy's never going to get a fair deal, so give it a rest.

Hmmm another low-count poster who valiantly defends Naked Geek, and his join date is within a day of hominid ...

The list grows ............. :P
