  1. I've searched for this, and not found the answer I am looking for. I am sure it must be here somewhere - if so, apologies for asking again.

I've ripped VOB files from a DVD using DVD shrink. I can rename to mpg, and play in real player, and media player no problem.

Now I want to use ulead video studio (version 5) to join files and add transitions. However, Ulead does not recognise the sound track in the file. What is the simplest way of converting the VOB (preferabley without recoding) so that the audio stream is in a standard mpg format that Ulead will recognise.

    Thanks

Why not just extract the audio as a wave file and add it to one of the audio tracks?
    Hello.

I don't even bother with this as Womble Mpeg Video Wizard recognizes the VOB AC-3 sound and I can add transitions, edit, etc. and save without re-encoding...
