Since this is not a simple problem, I've decided to post it here. Hopefully someone has run into this issue:
When converting Shrek PAL (German) to NTSC, I have a problem with the converted video missing about a minute's worth of video near the beginning. I've used Canopus ProCoder 1.5, TMPGEnc 2.521, and Pinnacle 9 with the same result. Here's what's happening:
After the Dreamworks logo, there is some text that says basically "Dreamworks/PDI Praesentiert"... and then cuts to some fairy lights and the book opening and pages turning (you know what I'm talking about if you've seen Shrek 1).
In the PAL original on the DVD or after I rip it, I can see this fine IF I WATCH IT FROM THE PAL FILE.
However after it's converted this part is missing and it jumps a minute to where the last few pages of the book is turning. So I decided to watch the preview as these 3 encoders are converting it and it jumps during the encoding too.
If I watch it on the DVD itself, this parts changes to angle 2 to show the German text and then back to angle 1. On the DVD, the length of angles 1 & 2 are identical and contain the same materials, except when the text in angle 2 is in German instead of English. I suspect this may have something to do with it.
The funny thing is, I'm ripping angle 2 with DVD Decrypter in IFO mode and enabling stream processing, but it's not helping either.
Thanks for reading.
