Hi, Can anyone tell me if there is a DVD software that allows you to increase the volume of the Audio track from a DVD video clip. I am making some compilation videos of different music video clips and the main problem is that the volume levels are all different. I make these DVD's from both an external VCR and DVD player which is connected to my capture card. The picture is really good but i just want to increase the audio levels so they are all the same.
I have run the sound through a powered mixer to increase the levels and then into the capture card and this has worked fine but i thought that there might be some DVD editing software that might do this aswell.
    Thanks.

  2. I'd demux the audio and look into something like BeSweet or SoundForge.

  3. Here below is a way to do it:

    1) extract the video clips (or titles) using DVD Decrypter in IFO Mode - demux (separate audio apart *.vob from video *.m2v for edit).
    2) use Ac3Tool or VOBedit to convert the *.vob to an audio format you can use in your audio editing program.
    3) open the audio files in your editing program and increase or normalize the audio volume level.
    4) then load the video and audio part of each clip in your DVD Authoring program.

  5. I use DVD-lab or TMPGenc DVD Author

I like uncompress audio for music videos... and I learned by experience that TMPGenc DVD Author is more reliable with uncompress audio, otherwise DVD-lab is a better choice.

I've never had problems using AC-3 audio with TMPGEnc DVD Author.

I use 256kbps 2.0 AC-3 for all my captures. I first normalize in SoundForge then encode to AC-3 with Soft Encode.

  7. I didn't say that TMPGenc DVD Author had problems with compress audio. Just I said it is better for uncompress audio (.wav) than DVD-lab at least for me

The same way, I can say DVD-lab is excellent for menu creation and TMPGenc DVD Author is poor for doing (making?) menu.... english is not my first language I hope you understand.

Hi novito, that DVD Decrypter program is really excellent. I couldn't figure it out at the start and just when i was about to give up, i clicked on the stream process tab and then clicked again on the Demux and it worked...im really happy..Thanks again for your help.
When i do the stream process, you know how it shows the video file plus in this case a 2 channel and a 6 channel audio file aswell, should i uncheck the 6 channel and just extract the 2 channel audio file only? Does it matter? I just assumed that when i convert it to wave it will be easier to edit in soundforge.
The only other problem that i have encountered is when i went to test the video file (to make sure it played without audio) it only played on Power DVD but not on my Arcsoft Showbiz (which i think is pretty crap anyway) or my windows media player.

Oh yeah and another thing...This might sound like a stupid question but when you say load the Video and the Audio back into a DVD Authoring program, will they be in sync again like before they were separated?
    Thanks.
