  1. I got this SVCD movie sent from a friend. There are a lot of rar files and one sfv files in three maps for three cds. How should i do to play them?

(When i open the rar files there are .bin and a .cue files that i can't extract.)

Unpack the rar archives with Winrar :>

    http://www.rarlab.com/

The bin files are cd images that need burning to cdr. Any burning software should be able to handle these ie. Nero, Burn-A-tOnce(free).

You just need to load the cue file associated with the bin (same name) into Nero, Burn-At-Once and burn.

Sounds like a classic case of My First Big Usenet Download disguised as a legitimate transfer.

  4. Why is everyone so quick to assume illegal download?
    Tell me YOU haven't ever.
    "...cast the first stone..."
Either help the user, or keep your fingers off the keyboard, unless you can honestly say you have NEVER worked with a piece of illegal/hacked/cracked/downloaded material of any sort, then preach all you like.
Of course, posting useless comments does help your post count.

An easy way to check the bin/cue is to get Nero's drive image, or Daemon tools and mount the image before burning, and possibly wasting a disk.

  5. I hope you are not refering to me reboot!
If you check my blue txt you will see I have merely
suggested he check with the rules and regs.. that is all.
No warning, no sanction and no assumption.
Josef K has a right to voice his comments as do you.

I have my reasons which I obviously won't go into right here.

I'd rather help keep this infinitely useful site alive instead of being taken down because of people helping others take advantage of warez. I'd also much rather be seen as a warez cop and still be able to help myself solve any problems/queries I might have of my own by being able to use this site than to keep my mouth shut and let anything like this escalate.

If I ever have/do/will use warez - at least I would never post about it, my reasoning being stated in the last paragraph. It's common sense that posting anything warez-like could land you in trouble since you see this on the very page you post from and there is no way you can not notice bold, red wording:

Warez includes downloaded copyrighted movies, movies that are not yet released on VHS/DVD and copying rented movies.

By the same token, I could do the very same thing by ignoring the problem and posting a helpful reply to an obvious warez post, thereby not alleviating the problem at all.

P.S. If I was wrong, why did a Mod look in on this post?

Why doesn't he ask his 'friend' to help him sort out the problem?

  7. No, offline, not you. I think we posted at the same time. When I first viewed and posted, you hadn't inserted your comments yet.
I merely wanted to point out, the user did specify "from a friend".
Take his word for it, at least for now.
Crap all over him later if it DOES turn out to be against the rules.
I guess I just wanted to say, "lighten up a bit".
I'm not advocating warez, just not condemming a new member on his second post.

I would definitely say its an illegal movie due to the fact that its been rared and comes with an sfv and is stated to be on 3 cds.If you give a movie to a friend it should be the master dvd that was bought and have you ever heard of a family movie rared exactley like a warez movie?
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

Presumably you wouldn't give someone all those RARs and just leave them to it?

  16. No problems reboot

Many here still misunderstand the WAREZ issue.
Here are some quotes from an earlier thread:

    Admin (Baldrick) said:
Downloading movies and tv-shows is basicly okey.

But if you mention that you downloaded an unrelased movie/tv-show, rent and copy, downloaded something from a p2p network, from my huge warez server or similiar it isn't okey.

This has nothing to do with any laws.[b]
    Offline said:
No further argument is needed. Look at what Baldrick stated. It is not
about the law in your country or even international law. It is about protecting videohelp.com from a) warez pollution and b) legal problems.

It is HIS site and we must follow HIS rules.

You want to copy a DVD - why tell us the title or how you got it?
You want to unrar a TV episode- why tell us the title or where you got it from?
Using certain software? - Don't ask for a serial or say you downloaded
    a $10,000 program from kazaa.

As soon as you make it obvious in your post that you are doing something
against HIS rules, you will be flagged. Simple idiot proof logic I would have thought.
The correct place to discuss these rules is in the feedback forum.
Feel free to post a new thread and I will link it to this one.

As far as I can tell, Newbie2000 followed those (Baldrick's) rules.

Reboot, I agree with you completely... if someone's obeying the rules, you can jump to conclusions all you want (johns0, Josef K) - even if you have strong reasons to do so - BUT AS LONG AS THE RULES ARE OBEYED, LEAVE THE DUDE ALONE. I mean, I don't really give a rat's behind if he downloaded the SVCD or got it from a "friend" - who's to say what's on it?
