How to Hook up Panasonic E80 with DirecTV?

Heres how i hooked up my rig

DISH---->SAT BOX---->PAN.E80---->RECEIVER--->TV

I dont think the programming will work because It only gets channels with the E80 on channel 3.

Also when dubbing I cant watch the dish i have to watch the program while its dubbing.

How can i make the E80 work better with my dish?

Does your TV have RCA jacks? (Red White Yellow) If so you can connect RCA cables from your Sat box to the E80, another set to from the E-80 to your TV/Receiver. Then run the RF cables as you have already set up. That way when you do a timer record just set the record channel as L1, and set the timer in the Sat box to tune to the channel you want to record. Kind of a pain having to set 2 timers, but thats the drawback with satellite. Also while dubbing, you can put your TV on channel 3 and watch something else from satellite. Im pretty sure the E-80 will just pass through the signal while its dubbing. Ill have to try it when I get home.
