    Hi All,

Is there a program that will ripp parts of a movie? If it is based on time it will be great? if that's not possible, which is the best program to ripp a dvd to an avi file?

    Regards,

    Jose

  2. Do you want to rip individual chapters of a DVD? If so, its very easy. In SmartRipper, just tick the chapter numbers that you want and then let it rip the DVD. The resultant files can then be converted to a single MPEG file with DVD2AVI & TMPGenc. In fact, this is the way I split films onto 2 CD-R discs - check out where a good "chapter break" is and rip the DVD into two seperate folders. Then encode to two seperate MPEG files and burn onto two CD-R's - couldn't be easier!

NOPE, Smart Ripper will not convert to AVI.
You must use DVD2AVi for this.
If you are looking for an all around ripper encoder use DVDx.
I have had better luck using DVD2AVI method though

    Hi,

I try the DVDx method ans it is working ok, but is there a way to product the ripping faster? I get realtime when I connect my DVD player to my Digital Camcorder and capture from premiere using FireWire. Is there any faster way to get an AVI file from a DVD?

    Regards,

    Jose
