  1. After using DVD2AVI (D2V files) for years with TMPGEnc, i recently tried the combo on PC #4, and as soon as i tried to open the D2V with TMPGEnc it just shut the application down.

    I immediately opened TMPGEnc back up to check the VFAPI tab but everything was in order. I then opened the D2V successfully in AviUtl (it has VFAPI support) and saved the AUP file (AviUtl project file) to the desktop. Shutting down AviUtl, and opening TMPGEnc, i attempted to load the AUP file........TMPGEnc shut down again!

    Now i restarted AviUtl, and created a project file (AUP) from a DivX-AVI i had laying around. I opened the AUP of the DivX file in TMPGEnc and now everything works fine. ??????????????? What the Hell?

    Opening the "Environmental Settings / CPU tab", i began unchecking all the boxes (and comparing the settings to those in DVD2AVI). No luck!

    My system;
    Athlon XP2000 Palimino core (1.6 GHz)
    Windows 2000 Pro
    EpoX 8RGA MB w/Nforce2 chipset

    This isn't my Video machine. I was just showing someone how easy it is to use DVD2AVI with TMPGEnc when the system made a fool out of me.

    Is it a CPU communication problem? Is the Nforce2 chipset driver lying to Windows to make things work? I think i'm on the right track, but i'd hate to have to buy a new CPU just to make this stupid thing work. I don't see a way to disable CPU optimization in DVD2AVI.

    This is obviously the Murphy's law!

  3. Now this is weird, but DGIndex works just fine. It's supposed to be based on DVD2AVI. I know a lot of think are "fixed" in DGIndex, so maybe there was an existing bug.
