mpeg2dat????

is there a converter that will convert mpeg to dat witch is vcd?? i dont really want to use easy cd creator or winoncd to make a vcd so if i just convert it to dat it will play on my standalone dvd player and comp with out a problem if anyone can help please haha thanks

well vcdgear (www.vcdgear.org) can convert an mpg to a dat but it wont play on your standalone player unless you burn it as a vcd. You really need to use ez cd creator or winoncd or something like that. a dat file burnt to a disk will not play.
