  1. I have a Sony DCR-HC14E Dv camera and I just cannot figure out how to get the video from the tape in the cam onto the pc. I have a USB cable which I have plugged in and installed *i hope* with the driver supplied. Also, I have installed Picture Package and imageMixer which were supplied on a disc too. The manual mentions nothing about getting the vids from the cam to the pc (which I find ridiculas). As far as I can tell the cam is currently not installed. Help!

if your cam has a firewire connector, it's worth using that instead. firewire is quick and easy using either DVIO or DVapp.

also known as an IEEE1394 connector.

I quickly googled your cam, seems it has a 4 pin firewire connector so you're in luck.

The USB connection, driver and Picture Package software are only for transferring stills to the PC. For video, as has already been said, you need Firewire, aka IEEE 1394 and i-Link.
