My favorite group - Roxette. Favorite Singer - Phil Collins (saw him live September 10th!!! Awesome)

I must agree with VCDHunter and say that Madonna is truely overrated. Like Prince, she has been touted as very influential and amazing because she reinvents herself so often.

I personally, am not impressed.

I don't think the world would fall apart if Prince or Madonna retired from performing...

I definately don't think the world would fall apart if Madonna didn't make another movie.

Alanis Morrissette may have been overhyped, but that Jagged Little Pill is pretty good. Still its nothing like Britney and all these pop "singers" nowadays. At least she backed up all the hype behind her. I haven't really listened to her after so I'm just basing my opinion on Jagged.

Af far as underrated I feel most indie bands are that.

What's up these days with rap "music"? Its everywhere now and is it me or is it just plain garbage now? I just watched BET or whatever the bloody hell that channel was and it played three "different" videos that looked exactly the same and had very similar music. If I wasn't paying attention I would have thought it was one long video. I just kept thinking "Is this what passes for music these days?" Just put a bunch of half naked women dancing, have money flying, and have a "thug" looking rapper with his posse in front of an expensive car, with an annoying high pitched chorus being repeated every five seconds. Utter crap.

To each his own but you have to understand that there are huge Jethro Tull fans out there that are also sensitive about such remarks.

How could anyone not like Jefferson Airplane-Jefferson Starship- Starship?

Here are some bands that get as much credit or almost as much credit as they deserve. In other words, they are not underrrated, but for a good reason.

*LED ZEPPELIN- praised a lot and rightfully so since they are probably the greatest band ever. Last two albums some of the most underrated in history.

*PINK FLOYD- praised a lot. Probably (along with Zepp) the greatest band the Earth has ever seen. People who don't like Pink Floyd are douches... like Roger Waters.

*Syd Barrett- Not just a crazy-man gimmick, his Floyd work is terrific and his solo stuff is wonderfully listenable. Great songs.

*AC/DC- Awesome. Nuff said.

*Queen- great band. Terrific songs, great musicians, Freddie is one of the bests singers, and good show too.

*Iron Maiden- kinda underrated actually. Great classic metal.

*Tool- deserve all the credit they get. They are totally different from the other imitating bands out there. People who don't like them should listen to the albums.

*Black Sabbath (Ozzy first six albums)- nothing beats rocking out to those songs especially when you are a bass player.

*Boston- Boston ROCKS.

*Lynyrd Skynyrd- great music.

*Nirvana- not overrated, trust me.

*Yes- kinda underrated actually. A lot of fun to listen to.

*Jimi Hendrix- a little overrated actually but still fun to listen to.

*Janis Joplin- yes, this is very good stuff.

*Morbid Angel- rightfully one of the most famous death metal bands. Their David Vincent stuff is pure brilliance. A very enjoyable experience.

*Death- great music that requires some effort but is very worth it. Guitar heaven... or is HELL?

*Cream- maybe just a little overrated but I still love Cream.

*The Doors- I used to dislike the Doors because I thought they were overrated. I now realizedI was wrong.

*Crosby Stills Nash and Young- very good.

*The Darkness- I don't care if people make fun of me, they are really not that bad for a "new" band.

*The Beatles- no band has been "rated" as much as the Beatles, and yes, they definitely are a little overrated. Most of their albums especially the White Album and Sgt. Peppers are FLAWED. Still, they deserve a tremendous amount of credit for making a lot of great music.
