I am not a connoiseur of beer, but I know what I like. And I like Sam Adams. I wish I had never tried it though. It is expensive. But since I tried it, nothing else compares. Just currious as to what brand you like as far as taste goes. I use to think, there aren't but two kinds of beer. Cold beer and free beer. And free beer doesn't have to be cold. South Paw was my previous favorite. Not because it taste all that great, but the price was right. Cheap. And it didn't taste too bad either. And you got a fair buzz too.

Coffee makes you happy.....Except when it messes you up

Cheap - Busch, South Paw
Import - Tecate, Modelo Especial, Dos Equis Special Lager
Almost forgot to mention the best beer I've had on tap: Pyramid Hefewezen. If God had intended us not to masturbate he would've made our arms shorter.

The only beer I'll ever drink, and it's rare for me to drink beer, is MGD from a bottle.
I've never found a microbrew that made me want to add beer to my normal drinking routine. -
Being a "Yank" now living in Germany....I think I can safely tell you that I am in BEER HEAVEN...
I too was a die-hard Miller High Life drinker and as a matter of fact ALOT of Germans consider Miller High Life and MGD to be the only American beer worth drinking.
My personal favorites now are the Hefe Weizens...."unfiltered wheat beers" is the best way to describe them. Paulaner Hefe Weizen and Paulaner Dunkel(dark) Weizen, Franziskaner's versions are second on my list. Also third on my list is Penn Brewing's(small brewery in Pittsburgh) Weizen.....AMAZINGLY accurate and faithful "copy" of a German Weizen beer.
Some Paulaner's are imported into America...if not all of them by now. I used to fork over BIG bucks for Paulaner Hefe Weizen before I moved here. I've also seen it on tap.
I've tried alot of those American micro brewery versions of Hefe Weizens and most of them suck. And please don't get conned into some bartender telling you that you need a slice of lemon on the rim of the glass for your Hefe Weizen. Take it off of there and throw it at him or her. Germans DO NOT ruin their beer with a lemon. And don't drink Hefe Weizen from the bottle....trust me...it ruins the awesome flavor completely....especially when you get to the last few sips from the bottle... -
I agree. Pyramid Hefewezen from the bottle was horrible. Loved it from the tap (With or without a lemon).

Guinness, Newcastle, and Hoegaarden are my tops. I'll only ever touch Leinenkugels and Summit beers from the US, probably in part because they're locals. I was also pretty surprised by Sapporo. The Japanese make pretty good beer.
Otherwise I'm more of a Scotch drinker -

I also tried Sam Adams Cherry Wheat at the Pittsburgh Airport thinking it would be "Weizen-like".....that crap was TERRIBLE. Luckily 8 hours later I was back here in beer heaven and had a proper beer.
I never liked Iron Shitty Beer...and I grew up in Pittsburgh. Never liked Rolling Rock much either. Rolling Rock has a tendancy to become the best examples of "Skunky Beer" known to mankind. It usually ends up tasting like it came from an old rubber garden hose....NASTY stuff if not kept ice cold 24/7. -
Stella Artois, Staropramen, Nastro Azzurro, Guiness or Spitfire to name a few. I prefer a good single malt though.

My favorite beer is Old Style - a Chicago classic, but seeing as how I live in a beer-challenged state that thinks Corona is the height of beer excellence (
), I cannot buy Old Style anywhere.
I've tried, and liked Carta Blanca, Dos Equis and Tecate of the mexican beers, domestics I like are Grain Belt (Minnesota), Pabst Blue Ribbon, Carling Black Label and, in a pinch, Michelob. I generally stay away from Busch products though. If I can't find any other beer, I'll drink Coors, but it's weak and watery.
Other imports I like are Heineken (my current beer), Tasahi and Stella (Egypt). -

I am admittedly drawn to the Anheuser-Busch brew. Anheuser-Busch is very big in the midwest. I was brought up on Busch...mainly because of price, then later when I was a junior or senior and had some money I moved up to Bud. Then later a Anheuser-Busch distributor sponsored our softball team...which we repaid them by purchasing 2 kegs each weekendMan those were some good times.
To be honest the only beer I really don't like is Sam Adams...I don't know why but it seems to have a soapy taste to it to me. So just give me the good ol' Budweiser. -
Kind of a funny story that goes with this thread....
I was at a golf course standing at the bar waiting to order and this guy with the big ol' beer gut orders a beer and the girl tending bar automatically pulls out a bud light sits in on the counter and he just looks at her and says "Now Darlin...does it look like I'm on a diet?" -

Does anybody else wonder how Pabst got their blue ribbon? I mean I like Bud over that crap. I used to like Genesee (now 12 Horses) but I could only get that back east. I used to drink OV a bunch, but not anymore. Come to think of it, I've had one beer in the last 3 or 4 months.

XXXX Gold is a popular beer in Queensland (Australia). But I am Ambidexterous when it comes to beer. Any beer is a good beer (as long as it is COLD)

Sierra Nevada Pale ale, it ROCKS. 5.6% alcohol and a nice bite
