It would be very helpful to have a "delete post" feature to correct problems like duplicate posts, etc....

Giving users the ability to delete their own posts also inadvertantly encourages the practice of users posting first without thinking.

That happens a lot anyway. As it is now, if someone wants to change something he posted without thinking, he can simply edit it and leave a period, etc....

I've seen it on a lot of other forums and it hasn't appeared to create any major problems. And you can always choose not to use it....

No. It could make it very confusing if someone deleted some posts in a topic. And I want to see all your IPs so I can ipban you later.
